Peppercorns
Peppercorns is a glimpse into nostalgia and growth. I wrote this in a period just after finishing undergrad where I was figuring out where to go in life. I gathered a band of singers and instrumentalists, and pulled together a sweet little EP.
Children of Rage and War
Children of Rage and War is a five-song EP arranged, recorded, and mixed over the summer of 2021. It began as a project exploring the use of the human voice as an instrument, and evolved into recording two original compositions and three arrangements for mixed voices and instruments. This music was conceived through the lens of a person who grew up at the beginning of the 21st century, bringing a common narrative to songs that were not necessarily written to go together.
A Cappella Arrangements
Jake Young 2023During my tenure as Music Director of Headband A Cappella, I arranged many of the group’s songs. Ranging from boyband classics to high-energy pop punk to reimagined folk songs, these pieces were performed at on and off campus events, including at Varisty Vocals’ International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella. Since graduating I have worked with current leadership of Headband to make custom arrangements for them. Please contact me for more information about performing these arrangements.
